Variety reports that Matthew Macfadyen is to star in a new film called ‘Incendiary’, directed by Sharon Maguire and also starring Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams. It starts shooting March 26 (the day ‘Middletown is released on DVD in the UK, by the way) and is a contemporary drama about the emotional aftermath of a suicide bombing in London.
‘Incendiary’ is adapted from Chris Cleave’s novel about a woman whose life is torn apart when her husband and infant son are killed in a suicide bombing at a soccer match. Her trauma is intensified by the fact that she was committing adultery at the time. Williams plays the woman and McGregor the journalist with whom she was having an affair. Macfadyen plays her husband’s boss, a senior anti-terrorist police officer who becomes a rival for her love.
Producers are Andy Paterson and Anand Tucker of Archer Street, the team behind “Girl With a Pearl Earring” and “Hilary and Jackie.” This sounds really great, I’m so excited! Read full article.
